Dear Friends,

Dear American Friend of the Berlin Staatsoper,

The Linden Opera House is open for daily performances and the Staatskapelle-Berlin recently returned home from an acclaimed European Tour with resounding applause.

After two years of combating COVID in its various permutations, your world of culture is reopening with traditional and contemporary musical performances. Two major events on the 2022 horizon are the April Berlin Festival Days and the Wagner Ring Cycle in October.

I am writing to ask for your help in sustaining this unique over 400-year-old community with a tax-deductible donation to our annual fundraising program. Your gift will ensure young singers and musicians are professionally trained to carry forward the traditions that have for decades enriched your life. In addition, the American Friends have supported simultaneous translations of opera performances. In New York City, artists such as René Pape, Michael Volle, and Marianne Crebassa have donated their time to entertain you at our soirées.

Thank you for making this possible, and for enabling us to carry on the centuries’ old traditions with an international, youthful, and energic ensemble under the baton of Maestro Daniel Barenboim. I look forward to hearing from you and wish you a joyous Holiday Season.

Sincerely,

Harvey Stuart Traison

President

Thank you for supporting the Staatsoper Unter den Linden!
