Return of a Postponed Production

DER ROSENKAVALIER Revival by André Heller – with Simone Young and Camilla Nylund

March 20-April 3, Richard Straussʼs DER ROSENKAVALIER, directed by André Heller and conducted by Simone Young, returned to the stage.

Two years ago, in February 2020, there was a sold-out premiere in front of a fully occupied house right before performances could no longer take place live in front of an audience due to the coronavirus pandemic. "One has hardly ever seen a more splendid, more tasteful, more opulent 'Rosenkavalier'" wrote the Süddeutsche Zeitung after the premiere.

André Heller himself directed the rehearsals for the revival, supported by co-director Wolfgang Schilly. After conducting DIE FRAU OHNE SCHATTEN in 2018, Simone Young returned to the Staatsoper Unter den Linden with another great Strauss opera. The ensemble of the revival includes Camilla Nylund, Christof Fischesser, Michèle Losier, Thomas Oliemans and Siobhan Stagg.
